Earlier in the month I helped to judge The Galvin Cup mixology competition for the second year running, and once again it was a fantastic event. Mixologists, professional and amateur, from around the world competed for the coveted Galvin Cup, creating spectacular cocktails.

The competition was hosted by the fabulous Olly Smith and Nigel Barden, who both injected lots of fun into the proceedings.

The second event I attended was Food Blogger Connect, the jam-packed event in its second year which brings together food bloggers for networking, exchanging ideas and all in all a really good time.

I teamed up with the fun-loving Kerrin of My Kugelhopf to give a talk on getting published, and there were some lots of informative presentations on a wide range of blogging-related topics.

I really enjoyed meeting the other bloggers who attended the event and I wish I’d been able to attend for the whole weekend. There are lots of blog posts about the full event if you’d like to have a read; just google ‘Food Blogger Connect’. And if you did a write-up yourself please do leave the URL in the comments for everyone to find.

Hi Julia, it was lovely to finally meet you in real life at FBC, hopefully next time we’ll get more opportunity to chat longer.

I did two posts about FBC – one on the food:

and the other about the venue and the people!

Nigel Barden always amuses me on BBC London – at least when he talks about food and drink rather than football!

Hello Julia! It was so lovely meeting you and having the chance to talk! And thanks for all of the great information you gave – you and Kerrin were fabulous and so helpful – and the encouragement you gave me later in the day. Much appreciated. And I am looking forward to seeing your cookbook!

I wrote 2 posts about Food Blogger Connect:

The first was about the event, the speakers, etc:

The second was a behind-the-scenes look which says a lot about the bonds, the friendships created out of food blogging:

    Thanks for collecting everyone’s blogposts!
Hope to see you one day soon!
